Webdesk, TNI Siliguri, 18th October, 2015: With much fanfare and some sleepless nights the Kshanik Sangha Club, which is celebrating its 46th Durga Puja this year, the Puja Pandal is inaugurated by the Chief Guest Mr. Achintya Guha, Inspector in Charge of Siliguri Police Station. This year the theme of the puja is “পাতাল হল স্বর্গ আজ মায়ের আগমনে” (Homecoming of Devi Maa turns the Hades into Heaven). This basically is shown by making the pandal underground. Yes, it was a planning done for the last 4 months by the club members.

The main drawback of the plan was a late trail of the rains in Siliguri. The underground digging was hampered at least thrice. A time came when all the club members left all hopes to continue with the plan. However, lately, it seemed Devi Maa blessings were on the heads of the initiators. The rains stopped and the work resumed which has led to creating this underground structure of Maa Durga Pandal. Apart from the IC of Siliguri PS the other guest were the Club Secretary Mr. Bapi Ghosh, Cub President Mr. Susanta Sen, Puja Committee Secretary Mr. Banty Dutta and others. It is also known that tomorrow i.e. on Sashti there will be a Saree distribution among the destitute.
